Short stories from around the world by well-known authors such as Roald Dahl, Saki, P.G. Wodehouse, Edgar Allan Poe, Grraham Greene, Jack London, D.H. Lawrence and Guy de Maupassant. Each of the stories has a sting in their tail.

An interesting collection of short stories. Perhaps they are all well known - certainly many of them are - I don't consider my knowledge in fiction (beyond the limited authors I read) very well fleshed out.
They are a good collection with a common theme - Stories with a Twist in the Tail is the subtitle. All of these are very short, and when a story this short is amusing, it is easy to rate it 4 stars, when they fail to capture my attention, they are easy to rate 2 stars. A number I have read before, so I linked in the individual review.
A Shocking Incident - Graham Greene - Review Here Great story **The Necklace - Guy de Maupassant - Well paced and amusing **
The Fiery Wooing of Mordred - P.G. Wodehouse - Nah, I can't hook into the peculiarity of form and language of Wodehouse. Maybe I will grow into it! How Un-American Can You Get? - Art Buchwald - A bit silly for my liking **The Rocking-Horse Winner - D.H. Lawrence - Great, in a bizarre way **
To Build a Fire - Jack London - Review Here - The deepest of the stories in this collection. **At the Airport - Marina Mizzau - Just a bit silly really **Children of the Vaults - Vladimir Korolenko - Never heard of this author, but this was a great story, well paced, heartfelt. **
The Night the Bed Fell - James Thurber - Another silly events story. Roosya - Ivan Bunin - A story of reminiscence. **The Tell-tale Heart - Edgar Allan Poe - Review HERE The P60 I reviewed had four stories, rated 2 stars, this was the best of them at **Borrowing a Match - Stephen Leacock - Short and insufficient for me. **Lamb to the Slaughter - Roald Dahl - Review Here - A memorable one from Roald Dahl. **
Sredni Vashtar - Saki - Didn't connect with this one. So I make that 6x 2 star stories; 3x 3 star stories & 6x 4 star stories.Technically that would make this a 3 star book, but really it is quite an admirable little collection, worth the 4 stars. It would be well worth it if you haven't already read a few of these, like I had.4 **
