I loved this one even more than the first! Real heroes, a real bad guy, a typhoid epidemic, and some family secrets make up an engrossing tale. The characters I loved from the first book were back for more, and Maggie is a delightful heroine. Adam's struggle to make a new life after a prison sentence was very well told, as he does his best to regain the trust of the family he betrayed and to make a new life as a man of honor. And the side stories for Gabe and Aurora were great, too. I'm definitely looking forward to book three!
