“Life is sometimes hard. Things go wrong, in life and in love and in business and in friendship and in health and in all the other ways that life can go wrong. And when things get tough, this is what you should do...MAKE GOOD ART.”
I feel like I want to buy two versions of this book, one to keep at home and one in my purse or bag to take with me to work and out in the world as an inspiration and reminder about why creativity and art matters and that even though it's never easy to create, it's worth it.
Thank you Neil Gaiman for your endlessly inspiring words and Chris Riddell who never fails to bring those words to life in fantastic illustrations. This book is a treasure. I read it through tears as I stand at a crossroads in my own life and unsure how to make my own creative dreams come true and the words pierced through my doubts and my overthinking and my fear to encourage me to just do it.
Thank you for putting this small, but powerful book out into the world. I will gift it to others and endlessly recommend it.
