Awakening Shadows

Thanks to the author, Sydney, and Literary Bound Tours for providing me with a copy of “Awakening Shadows” in exchange for an honest review. And let me be honest: I loved this book!

I found it to be such an easy and beautiful read, I felt connected to the characters from the very first few chapters, Sydney's writing flows beautifuly and transports you right there in Navarre, traveling alongside Princess Joseline and her companions. The story is intriguing, the characters are funny and sassy and everything you could ask for.

My favourite character was definitely Quinn. From the first page where he appeared I knew I was going to like him and I was wrong. I didn't just like him, I LOVED HIM. I was rooting for him and Joseline to be together, of course. (Sydney please don't disappoint me, I NEED THIS).

Also, can we talk about the mysterious Evalyn and Dax? At first I didn't understand why they were introduced, but as I kept reading I started to understand some things and I have a few theories and I can't wait to read the next book and see if I was right. I didn't like Dax at first, but I ended up really liking him and starting to understand his motives. Also, I feel like Evalyn is going to be a huge part of the next book and I can't wait to see her journey.

That ENDING left me speechless, it was so abrupt and it definitely left me wanting more. I need the next book right now, because I can't wait to see what happens. I'm so excited to dive deeper into the Navarre Chronicles!
