Feel like overall this collection of stories was darker than the first volume. To each their own Batman...
Gotham Spirit - high action, but low on saying anything of interest, when Batman's foes are people knocking over a liquor store, you just start seeing their desperation, and then I'm sympathizing with the ‘bad guys', even while I can appreciate the prevalence of ‘good' Black character cameos when that's so rarely been the default
Dungeons and Dragons - Plot and art reminded me of the format of an episode of Batman The Animated Series: investigation, discovery, fight, lament and reflection
Look Inside - a delightful bit of spookiness, always down for that reaffirmation of Batman's unique strength and weakness, how his fear shapes his will to fight
Haunted Arkham - DARK - revisiting the theme of the staff at Arkham Asylum having more issues than the patients
Carved - I know grief is a strong force in shaping Batman, and so stories of loss and how it can change, even warp people, are on theme, but they're still a bummer to read
Unnatural Selection - creepy sad, poor creature 🥺
Dreaming He Is a Butterfly - If you also find the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode Normal Again deeply disturbing, you'll probably have problems with this story too
Tap Tap - Cat and Bat games 😉
Off the Menu - Eeesh, killer eating people and Batman cutting off fingers?! The heartwarming moment with Alfred really isn't enough brain bleach
⚠️Child death, animal(?) death, ableism, cannibalism
