I've been in a reading slump for a quite a few years now BUT this year I decided to push myself to read. I realized that I am a mood reader. I get excited for books and then I'm not in the mood to read them when they come out. I started this series when a few books were already out and when this book came out, I was in the mood to read it but wasn't. Now years later, I find it hard to get back into this world because I literally have whispers of it in my memory, very much like all the women in these books...but I digress. Even though it was a bit hard to get back into the groove, I was glad that I had.

The central theme in Sentinal Wars happens to be that of dying men needing to find a woman to bond with who will in turn save their lives. If you do not like insta love, then do not read this series. Obvious is that the magic that exists among these people aids in the insta love. However, Shannon K. Butcher really does have a gift. She can make you believe in that connection and know that it is deeper than just the physical but on a spiritual deep level. She delivered all the feels in this book and in an honest and real way. I love some characters more than others and sometimes I like them less in other books but they are all empowering, never perfect but decent individuals that are sometimes misunderstood but that everyone is willing to give a chance to understand better.

Cannot wait to read the next one in the series but sad that there is no mention of another after that. Sometimes I wish authors would just end a series earlier rather than later because it really is hard to remember all the finite details that you know will matter later in the series.
