On Charley's first night, when it was snowing, Henry tells his new puppy, "This is home".
Henry shows new puppy Charley around the house, and even though Henry's parents say that the pet will sleep in the kitchen, the rules might change when Charley begins to cry.

By the cover image I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I was thinking it was some sort of winter read. However it does take place during the snowy season this is a book about a boy named Henry and his new puppy Charley. The pages are gorgeous with each illustration bordered giving it a fancy storybook feel. The illustrations fabulous and fun to view. I'm not sure I've been familiar with Helen Oxenbury before, but I'm a fan now. Amy Hest had my heart after [b:Little Chick 6265268 Little Chick Amy Hest http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1320539582s/6265268.jpg 6448521] and I'm glad to read her words again. The story starts with carrying Charley home, and the story ends with the boys finally sleeping on his first night. It's a cute reader with beautiful images that will be beneficial for any child, whether they are getting a pet on their on or living through storybook characters. It's fun and a great anytime read, but wonderful for the cold water as well. Thanks to Candlewick Press for providing a copy for review.
