I actually hadn't read any in this series before but it works as a standalone and was so good I went and got the first 3 books in the series from the library.

LA Police Detective Margaret Nolan and her partner are called to the scene of what appears to be a car-jacking but something looks really off with the scene. It becomes apparent that the victim is a business man on the cusp of selling his business for millions and the very next day, his wife is abducted!

YAHOOO there is a lot going on in this book and it moves quickly and without mercy as it takes you on one heck of a ride. The twists will make you so dizzy and the writing is immaculate!
