Two essays from Henry David Thoreau published in a Penguin 60s Classic.
The first, and longest is about democracy and government, and the control of the masses by the few. It is serious and a spirited read, but ultimately not a lecture I was in the mood to be subjected to.
The second, Reading just comes across as pompous and again, a lecture.
Not really for me. Good for some idealist university student with no commitments who can think in an ideal world scenario and not apply to real life.
