This is a very good but very short slice-of-life Christmas story. I've read a few vignettes like this from this author, including her excellent stories in the anthology [b:A Pride of Poppies 25460766 A Pride of Poppies Julie Bozza https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1434780694s/25460766.jpg 44649011], and I enjoy them. There's no resolution, just a moment in someone's life in which something momentous may be happening, or maybe not. This kind of writing makes me want to people-watch in a crowded place and imagine the stories of all the strangers around me, which is a nice feeling to have during the holiday season. I really like this story, and it's generous of the author to offer it for free. It only took me a few minutes to read, but I know it will stay with me - like everything Julie Bozza writes!
