After listening to the audiobook of “The Wise Heart” twice, I finished reading the physical book yesterday. This book is absolutely worth revisiting multiple times. It is exceptionally well-written and encapsulates a significant amount of Buddhist wisdom in an accessible and understandable writing style. For me, this book strikes the perfect balance between explaining the Buddhist wisdom and presenting it in a way that is comprehensible to a Western reader. Without a doubt, this book holds a special place in my heart as one of my absolute favorites.

I've already listened to The Wise Heart twice as an audiobook, and each time I've learned something new. The second listen was especially eye-opening, as I picked up on deeper insights that I missed the first time around. Now, I'm in the process of reading the physical book, and it's even more enriching to sit with the teachings at my own pace.
Jack Kornfield does an amazing job of making Buddhist psychology accessible while still preserving its depth and wisdom. I love how he weaves personal stories with traditional teachings, making it easy to connect with on both an emotional and intellectual level. I've found that the book offers practical guidance not just for understanding the mind but for navigating life with more compassion and mindfulness. It's the kind of book that grows with you each time you return to it.
Old review (2024-04-23):
Very deep and detailed book about the psychology behind the buddhism. I already read many books about the topic, but this one is especially deep, detailed and interesting.
