Daughter of the Sun
Daughter of the Sun
Banished and entombed in stone for thousands of years the Goddess of Vengeance is suddenly released on an unsuspecting world.
Sekhmet has been watching the world go by entombed in stone. She is the daughter of the Sun, a Goddess, and a killer. Created for vengeance, she waits.
Then one day a man appears and says he can free her, but there are stipulations. They are not Fet's binds, but a result of the potion that can release her. As soon as she is free, they race against time and Sekhmet herself to find her enemy before she turns back to stone.
That was exciting just to type that (laugh). Laura Greenwood gives us another exciting twist in the “Forgotten Gods” series with book two Daughter of the Sun (Drowlgon Press, B07ZDHFZK7, 2019). Once again, I do not want to give a lot away as this is a novella, but very exciting.
I also want to recommend that readers take a look at the Author's Note. I am a geek so I read everything, but the history of what is true and what is not is so fascinating.
Greenwood concentrates on the mystery and character evolution this time around and puts the romance in the background. The mystery is exciting, but the history and evolution is just as interesting. This is not to say that we do not have some sex thrown in, Fet and Sekhmet are sweet together. You won't get burnt by the sun reading this, but it does get hot on occasion. ✶✶✶✶
