This book is dedicated to unknown or forgotten vampire stories from the Victorian era.
The bride of the isles by Anonymous (1820): Unfortunately the author is inknown which is a shame, since this story is not well known, it was a good story and it reminds me for the plot of a film about vampires and Lord Ruthwen was one of them. The vampire in the story attempts to deceive his
bride-to-be, by lying about his feelings, he made a pact with beelzebub so his had to get married and the destroy the woman by any means then drink her blood so he could continue his life-in-death existence.
The unholy compact abjured by Charles Pigault-Lebrun: This story is about that becomes lost in a forest and disturbs a witch. The witch decided that she would curse him if he didn't sacrifice his beloved in exchange of not being murdered by vampires. Instead he abjures so he can live free of any curse. This is a very short story, nthat is unknown to me, which is one of the reasons that I wanted to read this book, which is the second collection of lesser known vampire stories, by lesser known authors.
Viy by Nikolai Gogol:
