In the second of this series, we see more of the Daniel Boone National Forest. I liked seeing more of the trails and the hiking/ climbing possibilities for Miranda's art classes.
Miranda's mom and Randy are two new characters. I didn't know if I was going to like Randy, but he is growing on me. Her mom is a great, helping mothering mom. We see more of the ranger and that relationship progresses normally. Miranda is looking more and more like a business woman. She had lots of hiccups to deal with in order to get her distillery going and she dealt with them very well. Her Aunt Ora was not my favorite character, but she isn't around too much.
I always like a cold case mystery and this one had some history tied into it. Those were done fairly well. Miranda did a good job investigating this old mystery. I liked the reason the sheriff was hesitant about going all in on this one. The why was pretty clear, but not the who. So there was some surprise with the solution. And catching the murderer was heart pounding.
This was a wonderful book 2 in the series.
I received a copy of the book. This is my review.
... All in all, I enjoyed Draw and Order. I can't say that the series will be on my auto-read list, but I'll probably eventually read future books in the series. If you enjoy small-town cozy mysteries, you might want to try this series.
