A dream-come-true continuation of the excellent [b:Earth Girl 12962345 Earth Girl (Earth Girl, #1) Janet Edwards https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1330891351l/12962345.SY75.jpg 18120012] series. A fantastic storyteller at the top of her craft. If you have read the Earth Girl series then absolutely get your hands on this book, it starts right where the last book finishes off. If you have not read the previous books about Jarra, I would advise reading them first (they are great!).This book is presented as a collection of short stories and this is broadly correct, but it's a bit more than that. The book opens with what is essentially a short novel following Jarra in the days following the ending of [b:Earth Flight 16152916 Earth Flight (Earth Girl, #3) Janet Edwards https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1390565126l/16152916.SY75.jpg 21990500]. This is a fantastic story with almost heart rending introspection, character development and oh my goodness, brilliantly written action.Yes, I enjoyed this book so much it make me sound like a squealing fanboy. The Jarra novella is followed by a series of stories from the perspectives of several other characters. As each story starts pretty much at the point the previous one finishes it feels less like an anthology and more like a novel told from several perspectives.I was especially pleased to read the story told from the perspective of Amalie, the character from the novella called [b:Frontier 26540001 Frontier (Epsilon Sector) Janet Edwards https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1442324655l/26540001.SY75.jpg 46539325]. Frontier was a very well told story and I half fell in love with the landscape and the people of that all-too-brief tale. Once again we get to glimpse that world and, while it's a good story, I wish for more.I could go on, but I will draw to a close by saying that this was one of those rare books that I rationed. I enjoyed it so much that I tried to eke it out, only reading a little each day. [a:Janet Edwards 5415711 Janet Edwards https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1657263898p2/5415711.jpg] creates worlds you want to explore and characters you care about, and I look forward to visiting them again. Thank you Ms Edwards.
