A Full-Spectrum Exploration of Sound and Consciousness

How lucky am I to be the first to review Elements of Sound: A Full-Spectrum Exploration of Sound and Consciousness on Goodreads!
(Side Note: I'm currently super sick and have wicked Pulsatile Tinnitus, so my mind isn't working the best, but I wanted to at least write a semblance of a review.)
I read this as an ebook, but loved it so much that I will be purchasing a copy to add to my “most beloved book collection.”
As a person who has struggled with intense sound and ear issues for the entirety of my life, Adrian DiMatteo's book offered a different (a more healing and hopeful) perspective outside of the western pathological diagnoses of misophonia, hyperacusis, tinnitus, eustachian tube dysfunction, and sensory processing disorder—it's been a journey!* This book was EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be.
Grounded and expansive, DiMatteo's compassionate and wise counsel radiates from the pages.
As a musician, I also enjoyed the second half of the book where the more technical aspects of music were explained though I could have stopped reading after the first section and been completely fulfilled.
I'll be sure to recommend Elements of Sound to others who are interested in sound healing/meditation—my favourite healing modality—and to those who are interested in learning about how sound impacts all life.
