Alexandre Crusoe, descendent of Robinson Crusoe, has grown up aware of his parents' many amorous affairs. Alexandre is determined to lead a staid, monogamous existence and becomes engaged to Laure, who is boring but promises stability. Then Alexandre meets Fanfan, the passion of his life. Consumed by thoughts of Fanfan, Alexandre is determined not to seduce her, for he is convinced that it is the anticipation of love that prevents the decline of passion. Only by never consummating their love will it remain eternal. Fanfan uses all her wiles to seduce Alexandre as he remains true to his beliefs. This is an erotic comedy that will delight the reader.
