Father of the Bride meets Bride Wars in Forever Hold Your Peace, in which two ex-best friends find themselves shockingly entangled after more than two decades apart, for fans of Good Company. When their newly engaged kids ask all four divorced parents to meet each other over brunch, everyone RSVPs yes--secretly hoping someone at the table will get to the bottom of the bottomless mimosas fast enough to say what they’re all thinking: that this engagement, coming after a whirlwind romance between two people barely out of college, is too much too soon. But at that brunch it’s not the impulsive couple's decisions that end up under the microscope, as it turns out June, mother of the bride, and Amy, mother of the groom, certainly do know each other--they're ex-best-friends who haven't spoken since their explosive falling out more than twenty-five years ago. Reeling from their unwanted reunion and eager to shift the spotlight off their past as decades-old secrets and rivalries come to light, the two moms battle it out for the prize of Most Enthusiastic About This Wedding. But when their history—and their present-day shenanigans—threaten to crack the foundations of the happy couple’s future, June and Amy find themselves becoming unexpected allies in an all-hands-on-deck effort to get their kids (and themselves) a happily-ever-after two generations in the making. Forever Hold Your Peace is perfect for readers who love messy, complicated family novels like All Adults Here and stories that bring the past and present together like One Italian Summer.

I just finished Forever hold your peace by Liz Fenton; Lisa Steinke and here is my review
When Zack proposes and Olivia accepts their parents don't understand the rush, they've only known each for weeks. All 4 parents make the effort to go to a family brunch to see how the others feel about the rushed engagement.
Olivia's mother is alway late. It's June's trademark but little does June know what she is walking into... As she walks in to meet Zack's parents she gets hit with a blast from the past.... Her ex best friend.... Sitting next to her.... Her ex-fiance. The man who cheated on June with Amy.
Amy cannot believe her eyes when her old friend walks in. Which mother will come unhinged first? Will their shenanigans tear their children apart? Or will it be the secret Zack and his dad are hiding?
This book was a hoot! I laughed so hard at the mother in law antics! Firstly I can see why they were all shaken up. Their barely adult kids are rushing into marriage. That would be the first earth shaking thing for me then to find out that the parents were all connected with a past? I really felt for June. She was my favorite out of them all. I felt she got the raw end of a stick. I couldn't imagine coming face to face with the friend I loved like a sister and the man I loved and nearly married until they had one drunken night together? They stayed together because she got pregnant which was the right thing to do but the loss. GUH my heart aches for them all.
I loved that the book had such beautifully descriptive scenes and some heartwarming moments. The writing was really solid and flowed really nicely. It was a thoroughly enjoyable book.
I love books that have weddings in them and this one was well worth the read.
4.5 stars.

New Spin On Wedding Wars. Fenton and Steinke manage to craft a new, much more dramatic yet still hilarious, spin on the Wedding Wars trope, this time by introducing quite a bit of explosive drama between three of the four parents involved. Yes, the drama itself takes up more of the pages than those who prefer a less dramatic romcom will probably like, but overall it works here to elevate the trope and provide a good bit of "meat" for those who are looking for something a bit sturdier than yet another vapid romcom whose details will be forgotten seconds after finishing it. Instead, this one will challenge you without putting *too* much pressure and will show you things you might not have otherwise considered - particularly if you're one of the not-small population that can readily identify with much of the drama herein. And yet, ultimately this is more Lifetime meets Hallmark than anything *truly* dark and foreboding - it *is*, still, at its heart, a romantic comedy. Just one with a bit more bite than usual, which helps elevate it over so many of its genre siblings. Very much recommended.
