“Where do you draw the line between past, present and future? Do they blend into one another across time and space or are they separate doors we knock on and ask permission to enter?”

I am lost between giving this book a 3.5 or a 4. But I guess this book's suitable rating is somewhere close to 3.5 but higher than that, and somewhere closer to 4 but lower than that. You decide.

I am not sure if anyone out there is like me. I am a person who never reads synopsis except when buying books, and even then I read them briefly because I think they ruin the book for me. I like to be surprised. I usually read 20 pages at least before reading the synopsis. Anyway that means I didn't read the synopsis before signing up to this book which I got in a giveaway in exchange for a review.
When I first started reading the book, I found it BORING. I am just not into cheesy stuff about the value of friendship and all of that, you know what I mean? That's just too Disney material. The cover and the title DID not help at all. After a few chapters, I ventured into reading the synopsis and I regretted even more signing up to this book.
I was surprised and somewhat baffled when I realized that I was enjoying this book. My favorite part was probably when E.K. talks with the cat's point of view. I just love cats and find them to be so funny!
But I must say, it has a few weak sides. Like at some points, I wouldn't know what the hell E.K. was talking about. Some parts were so irrelevant to the story, and the end was soooo quick and disappointing. I liked it, though. It was a bit satisfying, but very fast, and disappointing when it came to the three girls visiting Ally. And what about Melissa? I kind of feel very sorry for her. She got the attention she wanted to have but in a very wrong way, and I sympathize very much.
Other than that, at some point, E.K. would go pages describing every character's personnality and looks like a thousand times, and sometimes it was just too, how should I say this? Ummm.. like she would be narrating a part in the story and then BOOM, just as quickly as saying the word “boom”, she goes around talking pages about a character, and well, I think that's a weak spot. Personally, I like to read about the character's looks and personnality through the plot, while they are speaking, just briefly. A tiny tip of a thread in different places throughout the book that the reader has to gather by himself.
Oh, and EK, you have a bit of grammar mistakes. Like for example you would forget an apostrophe, and instead of saying “Emma's” you would write “Emmas”. There are a bit of typing mistakes too, so I think you should re-read the book and correct these stuff. :)
Other than that, E.K. has a very nice sense of humour. I laughed so hard while reading this book. And your writing style is very simple, and beautiful. It attracts the reader instantly. I would read like 20% of the book - while I should be studying - without even noticing.
Anyway, I think this was a good read. And I don't regret it at all :D.
I would want to read more works of EK. I think she has a lot more to give, and that her future works will be better.
