Funny Boy

I selected this book from the used book shelf at work. I noticed it was about Sri Lanka, and I am interested in, and have been reading lately, books about different countries.
The story is about a young man, Arjie, who is just entering the tender years of puberty. During this time, there is much turmoil in his country. Arjie is bullied by a newcomer, finds out those who are true friends, and learns many, very difficult lessons as he finds out what and who he is really all about. Great story.
