Funny Once

I found Antonya Nelson via The New Yorker. Her stories never fail to make me feel as though I am reading about real things happening to real people. There is a lot of real life sadness in all of these stories: illness, suicides, affairs, and divorces. All of these problems are being dealt with by everyday people- people with faults and no super powers at all.

I found some of the stories to be a chore to get through. Others, I loved. The Village is my clear cut favorite here, followed by Literally.
