A series of apparently anti-Semitic murders takes place in New York City. Neither the mayor nor the police seem overly anxious to take a firm hand in stopping them, so a meek, bookish rabbi in Brooklyn reaches into the mysticism of Kabalah to create a golem. The creature, fashioned from clay assumes the form of a powerful human being who must follow the commands of his maker and can only be destroyed that maker. As a worn-out homicide detective begins to look into the murders of seemingly innocent Jews, he then finds that he has to find the killer of his suspects ... the golem.
GOLEM is at once a mystery, a thriller, a love story and a surprisingly tender and sympathetic character study.
