It was so interesting to read from Jord's perspective. In the Captive Prince Trilogy, I didn't dislike him but I wasn't too fond of him either. After reading this short story, however, I have a newfound appreciation for him.I loved seeing the glimpses into the past from Jord's perspective, where we got an idea of the situation 15-year-old Laurent was in with his uncle. It gave even more context as to the situation that had turned him into his cold, enigmatic self, and made us see how despite this personality of his, he still helped Jord and the members of the Prince's guard.I still don't care about Aimeric in the slightest, but regardless the events we got to take a peek at relating to Jord and Aimeric's growing relationship during the time of [b:Prince's Gambit 23398894 Prince's Gambit (Captive Prince, #2) C.S.
