From No.1 New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer comes a romantic comedy about an accidental relationship between three smitten men . . . and one commitment phobic woman. Elise Brandeis has never won a Pulitzer - and she never will. At least not while she's delivering sandwiches at the Gotham Times, instead of working there as an actual reporter. Her only shot at seeing her byline in print is to prove to the no-nonsense managing editor that she has a nose for news. And she's got just the story to grab her elusive attention. Chasing down leads brings Elise to Roosevelt Island, but just when the trail of clues begins to take shape, she gets stuck. Literally. On a cable car with three strangers who couldn't be more different. An uptight rugby coach, a construction worker and a former adult film star she pretends not to recognize a little too well. At first, Elise wants nothing more than to be rescued ASAP. An hour later, everything has changed. By pure happenstance, four separate journeys have collided in an intense, meaningful way. Suddenly, disentangling their lives feels more impossible than winning that Pulitzer. Good thing Elise is too busy proving herself at work to consider three boyfriends. Nobody has time for that - even if they make giving in feel oh so right. But three heads are better than one and these loners will teach themselves to work together to win Elise over forever . . .

I was excited to read this since I enjoy Tessa Bailey's writing style and fun romance. Although, I had fun with the book and some of the characters, this is definitely not that good. It's the kind of not good that is entertaining though.
Was this the best that she has written? No. Was this instalovey as all heck? Yes. Did I still like it? Yes.
The speed with which everything happened was – whew – REALLY fast. Like a couple days to two weeks at most. Despite all of that, I did like the dynamic between Elise, Tobias, Banks, and Gabe. It would've been nice to have it fleshed out BUT the point of this book is to have a short fun time with something close to fate without the supernatural world or attributes.
If you want a quick read with nice banter between overly horny people and a small exploration into relationship dynamics that might make you laugh out loud, I think you should give it a try.
***Also that epilogue was better than most trad published epilogues in my humble opinion. Certainly helps that it was in the POV of my fav character.
Quick, easy why choose romance with light suspense. A smaller cast of characters than I usually expect from a Tessa Bailey book but the ones you have are charming and fun. Plenty of banter and jokes, triple the amount of dirty talk, and overall a tidy plot.
You're dropped right into it all and the pace pretty quick. Happestance lacks some of the emotional depth you can find in Tessa's other novels but it's still a solidly fun read. I've followed this since it was just a joke on tik tok and the whole process has been a delight.
