My review is for the eBook.
There are various stories in this eBook about a infamous place in Staffordshire, England known as Cannock Chase.
If your from England or British it's likely you would have heard of Cannock Chase if ypu are interested in the paranormal, cryptids, unexplained spooky encounters people had with spirits, entities, other beings.
I really like the short story format for this book & other books written by Lee Brickley, his books are always interesting to read.
I like the story about the failed actor, the description of the male spirit absorbing energy from the whole building he was in and shaking the entire foundation of the building & surrounding area was really interesting, the male spirit has a strong will, his energy & presence is strongly felt, observed, physically manifested in the theatre that he chooses to stay in.
T story about he black-eyed child seen in the forest was creepy, it had unknown intentions, if I saw a black-eyed child it would really creep me out, in my opinion the black-eyed children are demonic vampires, interdimensional entities/beings, demonic in nature or intentions, since vampires & demons have to be invited in and they only have power, control, ominion over you if you allow that, or they can attach themselves to your physical body, energy or aura so they siphon and drain your energy & lifeforce over time until you die.
The Shoal Hill house haunting is interesting, i'm curious about what the labd was originally used for, before the big house was built on the land, if there are and leylines-(a natural source of energy that exists within the earth) the mysterious disappearance of the priest is puzzling, he may or may not have actually existed or he was a spirit himself.
I want to know what book from the bookshelf was thrown at the priest that knocked him unconscious, why did he also disappear like he never physically existed?
Was a demon or a entity haunting the house & why did it physically manifest itself in the bedroom of two six-year old children?
The way the young child described the demonic being sounds like it is a high ranking demonic entity-some manifest themselves & show themselves as a shadow person with red glowing eyes.
The creepiest unexplained, spooky encounters people have had, is definitely when they encountered the smiling man entity, it has a strange aura, a disturbing long-term affect on anyone that is unfortunate enough to encounter the smiling man.
The very vivid and disturbing descriptions of the smiling man are quite creepy- “the crazed look in his eyes, the manical smile or grin on his face” the disturbing movement of the smiling man's head is very disturbing, there is something unnatural, otherworldly and very creepy about the smiling man entity.
The way people describe the behaviou of the smiling man makes it seem like he is a psychopath, a murderer or serial killer he just has that type of dark and sinister vibe, he has unknown origins and unknown intentions as well.
The description of the black doorway appearing out of nowhere or the smiling man compketing disappearing without a trace in fron of somone's eyes is puzzling, the doorway sounds like a portal to me.
It really creeps me out though the way he just physically manifests himself & then disappears at will , in front of people's eyes in real-time, multiple people have seen the smiling man, so they didn't collectivelly imagine the smiling man, however the smiling man would gain notoriety, attention, energy from people that fear him, or fear the unknown as well so in that context the smiling man becomes a Tulpa in a similar context to Slenderman, but they aren't exactly the same type of entity or being since Slenderman is a fictional Creepypasta character that isn't real despite what some people may choose to believe.
I liked the disturbing, very detailed explanations of some of the more disturbing and violent encounters with spirits people had with spirits, entities or beings that have unknown origin or unknown intentions.
The smiling man, was my favourite story.
If you like reading about disturbing, creepy, ubexplained encounters people had wirh spirits, entities, beings then I reccomend any books by Lee Brickley.
