One of the most interesting books I read in 2023. I described it to friends as having echoes of Richard Powers and Ted Chiang. Sorta harrowing sci-fi.
Each chapter follows a character in a scenario in which the permafrost melt has released a plague. There's nothing particularly clever about the way characters lives are connected, but it was nice to follow these stories through to their conclusions.
