The writing felt surprisingly thick and long, or drawn out. It might even be trying a bit too much to be clever/stylish and instead creates spots of confusion or incohesiveness in the story, while also impacting the flow of the book. Unnecessary side/back story that doesn't develop the characters the way it intends to even confuses the situation and leaves one feeling like there is just as much filler as there is substance. Sadly, the murder mystery is very cookie-cutter that lacks much ingenuity or major surprise and the conclusion is wholly uninspiring. Ironically, the book ends with barely any resolution and doesn't provide many answers for a book playing with that notion in its title.
