A quite enjoyable quick read as Cole gets to learn to use words to express his feelings for a young woman who was once nothing more than his best friend, yet has recently become something better. Having his nieces and nephews foisted upon him suddenly by his sister and brother-in-law's sudden deaths makes him realize he can't wait to find a good wife. But could Rhoda ever love him? Isn't it better to try to marry a stranger than to wreck a friendship with talk of love? What's a man to do?
Aside from a few odd capitalizations and a couple format blips, the story is very well written. I didn't get the need for the few paragraphs from the horse's POV, but otherwise I loved Cole and Rhoda and especially liked the realistic interactions with the four children. It definitely reminds me how much I wished to continue the series when I read the first book a few years ago.
