Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book via R&R Book Tours in exchange for my honest review.
I've read 2 other books by this author, and I enjoyed both of them so when the chance to read this one came up, I obviously had to take it and I'm glad I did because once again I enjoyed it.
This book is told from 2 POVs. Eden's chapters are told in the present where she has been locked up in a mental hospital for murdering her husband. Then there's Layla's chapters which are in the past from where her and Eden first meet and then they catch up to the present.
I was immediately drawn into the story, but it wasn't an on the edge of my seat kind of story. I loved that we got Eden's POV because reading her chapters will make you feel like you're going crazy like she feels. I felt so bad for her throughout the whole book but there are times where she came off very manipulative and I didn't really care for that especially in the end. I'm not sure how I feel about how things ended for her.
I will say I was able to guess at somethings but even still there were some aspects of what I guessed that I didn't see coming. Despite kind of knowing where things were going it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.
This ends in a way where there is potential for another book, and I will totally read that if the author decides to write it. I actually hope she does because I would like to know what happens now.
I'm being very vague because I don't want to spoil anything but overall, this was another enjoyable read from Eva and I look forward to her next book. I definitely recommend this if you're into psychological thrillers.
