You can tell which parts Fletcher wrote by the count of the word “cock”.
Seriously now.
A gory, grimy novella with rich prose and clever worldbuilding.
Whips up a fresh take on fantasy zombies and uses beautiful prose intertwined with parodic moments to humor and darken the horrors and idiocies of war.
I especially loved the POV of Iananr, the pain-loving demon suffering an unjust binding. All the POVs balance each other out, each painting the world in different strokes of guts, darkest humor, and backstabbing.
I didn't much like the jarring mix of modern speech with mystic lyricism but otherwise, really enjoyed it!
