Hmmmm, I feel that this collection is weaker than the others, partly due to the art depicting the Storyteller in all the stories except for ‘The Last Lullaby'. To be clear the other stories had good art for the story that was being told, but at the cost of making the Storyteller (and sometimes the dog) look strange or a little ugly.
I also felt that the stories in this collection were negative about women, similar to the idea that witches were bad women. Maybe I'm reading into it, but it felt like this collection was saying that most ghosts/spirit activity were women or abandoned babies (products of ‘bad' or unlucky women). Also to me zombies are not ghosts and a banshee isn't a banshee without their icon scream, screech, wail, or other awful sound, so I was disappointed by Walsh's ‘The Last Lullaby', which was depressing. It kind of has the odd sound, but it's very subtle (so not the overt and obvious keening, crying, etc.), and has more singing in it.
‘The Promise' I think is the strongest story.
