Lizzie Murphy is an Illinois farm girl experiencing a serious slump. Thirty five years old, recently divorced and caring for her parents and the family farm as well as her design business, her life is full to overflowing, but devoid of passion or excitement. She feels like a yoked oxen with the weight of responsibility anchoring her in her satisfying but dull routine. She makes the very uncharacteristic and impulsive decision to fly off to South America for a forty day cruise. Having rarely left the state, let alone the country, she lands in Manaus with mingled apprehension and excitement. She could not possibly know that her decision will impact the rest of her life in countless ways, as she stumbles into a web of terror and is forced to fight for her life. She has to reach deep into her inner strength and undiscovered talents to navigate not only the Amazon, but the challenges that fate flings at her.
