I listened to this audio book and loved it! I've been struggling with a foot injury that has sidelined my competitive running for a (frustrating!!) 8+ months. I began to look forward to my grueling pool runs and trainer rides, knowing I'd be able to listen to Deena's motivational story.

Of course being a true runnerd, I was engrossed by all the training details and race replays. But what made this book truly wonderful is in the title: the way that Deena has been able to continually improve and grow through her career through practices of mindfulness and positivity. Never pedantic, Deena walks (runs?) us through her incredible journey as one of the most accomplished American distance runners of all time and how she used positivity as a means to do that. There are invaluable lessons in her for everyone, runners and non-runners alike (but especially runners). I've already been incorporating a lot of her tactics in my life and plan to continue. Really an inspiration and I so recommend it. You can't walk away from this feeling anything but positive!
