Lightning

I had no idea I'd find something so fantastic in this book. I've heard Lightning is a popular Koontz story, but there is a lot of popular Koontz books out there. At first, I wasn't sure what I was getting into. After Phantoms, I've been trying to get more into Horror Koontz, and I wasn't getting an inch of that in this book, even with the treacherous “horror” genre tag for it on Goodreads, but after settling in a little more, none of that mattered.

Lightning has some of the best character chemistry, and not only that, it has some of the greatest fictional characters I've seen in a novel! One thing that might make me biased for this story is the female lead. Not only do I enjoy a kickass heroine, but the one in this reminded me of my daughter. There is something beautiful seeing through those type of lenses.

So far, Lightning is my favorite Koontz book, and now one of my all-time favorites.

Reading Koontz books one after another has been greatly refreshing and tremendously worthwhile. Although I found myself an avid fantasy/sci-fi reader, I occasionally read the mystery/thriller, while trying to find some great horror to put in my freezer.
