Maijan tarina jatkuu. Elämä Myrskyluodolla on luonnon armoilla. Lapsia syntyy ja sodan uhka alkaa häilyä perheen ympärillä. 1800-luvulla Jumalan pelko ja epäpuhtaus olivat isoina asioina tässä teoksessa.
