Midnight Is the Darkest Hour

This was quite the roller coaster! At no point while reading the first 75% of this book did I have any idea what was going to happen next. I was like, “Is it vampires? Is it a cult?? Oh, it's bikers. Wait... is it bikers?? Nope, not bikers...” all the way through. Was this a great masterpiece of literary fiction? No, but it was a good time. Fun, fast-paced, keeps you guessing for the majority of the story, and had an unexpected ending that reminded me of a very popular early 90s movie (which I won't reference here because it's a spoiler).

This is my second Ashley Winstead book and, while I'm in the minority of people who did not enjoy “The Last Housewife,” I wanted to give the author another chance. I'm glad I did because I'm more interested in picking up “In My Dreams I Hold a Knife” now.
