As with all book series' that you can read out of order, there is a certain amount of reminding us who recurring characters are. That can be mildly annoying, but I would rather have that than to be left in the dark. Jessica's observations of people are generous in spite of their flaws. I enjoy that even if it is about a minor character.
With this particular one, I loved the layers of the crimes. I loved the strong and good female character towards the end of the novel. The murderer was not immediately obvious to me and I liked that. I liked the occasion for several beloved charterers to get together again.
Holidays in Cabot Cove might be dangerous, but they are enjoyable to read about.
