4/5 - I'm down to read whatever Joya writes, and this was no different. This was a cute love story between the FMC, Nikki and her best friend, Mal. I appreciate Joya's writing style in this book as the chapters were written as a timeline. The premise of the story wasn't my favorite (the FMC auditioning for a singing group) because let's be serious, there's no singing groups in this day and age. So it came off outdated, but I was still hooked into the story. Also, it can't be a Joya story without a terrible parent! Nikki's mother angered me throughout the entire book. All in all, it was a fun read.
