This book follows the story of Chloe, whose mother was an addict, resulting on her adoption and integration on the foster care network. Chloe maintains some contact with her birth mother; however, it is thoroughly surprised when she is contacted because her mother gave birth to another child and is expecting Chloe to assume all legal rights.
Chloe just finished university and is starting her life, leaving her with low financial conditions to fully support a child, being this the only impediment for the adoption. Luckily, there's a program which pairs up people to help fulfil the conditions and she meets Warren, who fulfils the financial conditions but doesn't have a house to live with his brother.
It was a wonderful reading, full of heart-warming moments, being my favourite parts the domestic moments between the characters. The story was a bit spoiled by the third act conflict which appeared out of nowhere and forced a rushed conclusion to the narrative.
