Small is feeling grumpy and in need of some answers. Does Big really love Small…no matter what? What if Small is a squishy bug, a crocodile, or even just a grouch? Debi Gliori’s sweet prose and colorful illustrations remind us that a parent’s love is always there, no matter what, in this beautiful lap-sized board book with gold foil stars.

First let me tell you how absolutely in love with giant lap board books I am! This is a new discovery for me still and I am loving it. (First discovered them from Tommy Nelson and [a:Liz Curtis Higgs 6214 Liz Curtis Higgs http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1220363584p2/6214.jpg]'s republished format of her Parables Series.) While reading this story is a bit reminicent of Big and Little in [b:Guess How Much I Love You 301736 Guess How Much I Love You Sam McBratney http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1320457007s/301736.jpg 45331], I enjoyed this one so much more. Especially now as we have hit a bit of night time separation anxiety in my toddler reading about small's worries and the reassurance provided by Large has become very valuable. A parent's unconditional love for their child is often hard to explain and this story provides a great way to share that reassurance. I love when illustrator's write their own children's books and [a:Debi Gliori 119357 Debi Gliori http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg] has made a fan out of me. I will be looking for her other books. Thanks to HMH for providing a copy for review.Originally posted: http://creativemadnessmama.com/blog/2012/02/17/no-matter-what-by-debi-gliori/
