One Day in Bangkok

This is a short story published free on Smashwords. It is more accurately a teaser chapter out of a book on Smashwords, and unfortunately, that means it reads as an excerpt, and not a story.

For example, we are thrown into the story without knowing anything about the man the author is travelling with - Mr Z. This, along with the fact that the author is writing in his non-native language (he mentions in the text that he is Bulgarian, so we assume this is true), and a few scattered typos, make it an ok read, without excelling.

To be fair, this is what Smashwords is about - amateur writers having a go at it, and self-publishing.

The actual story is pretty much ‘naive tourist in Bangkok 101'. Arrive is a daze, find accommodation (usually terrible until you find your way) go looking at tourist spots, get talked into a free tour by local man, end up at tourist shops pressured to buy things, end up in restaurant and bar where you overpay for everything, see unappealing nudes with pingpong ball trick. Meh.
