Takenomaru, a violin prodigy, gives twelve girls brooches that change color according to their feelings for him and makes them fall in love with him to attain the Twelve Tears of Maria as part of a contract, knowing that the girls will face death after he obtains the tears. Meanwhile, Nanao Kaga defies her father to attend the music academy in Tokyo, where she meets Takenomaru, who she believes may be the "Prince of Harmony" she seeks.
