It was a miss. 1.5 stars because I did manage to get to the end even though I was so over the characters. They acted like they were in high school, even the adults. All about drama and being sure they have fallen in love even though they barely even know the other person.
Some major misses:
-Supposed to be dedicated Christians, to be watchmen going to a prayer room to pray, but as soon as life gets hectic, that's the first thing to get dropped-Mentor figure lies in order to make an excuse to meddle-Girl runs around in her underwear and takes a shower while talking on the phone to her uncle--awkward-The snorting ice cream scene was cringe. She's supposed to be so spiritual but she's purchasing gay ice cream and then greeting the guy at the door in sleepwear? -Guy thinks it's okay to excuse his time as a drug dealer because he wasn't as evil as the other guy? Seriously? He should have repented for his dealing long before. Yet the girl is supposed to be the one repenting for being judgmental of him?-Why does the man who's just barely got his own tiny apartment, can't drive, and is working his first job in the marriage market to begin with?-If her brother woke up in the hospital and begged her never ever to do drugs the first time he did them, how'd he manage to die of a massive overdose his first time trying? You don't wake up from that.
I don't see maturity in either side of this couple, nor in their “mentors.” They are just starting to wake up to what life is about. Hence, I don't have any belief that they actually stay together, or if they do, it's probably constant drama.
Not a good example of a Christian relationship.
