Redemptor

A satisfying conclusion to this duology. I liked the introduction of new characters, Zuri in particular. However, a second council does clutter up the character count, and some of the pacing is rushed, particularly at the end with the final descent to the underworld. However, Ifueko's worldbuilding remains so impressive and the complex themes she has Tarisai exploring - grief, trauma, empathy, guilt, justice - and how they all intersect to shape her decisions and journey is so well done. A definite recommend if you're looking for a complex fantasy.
