Simon feels that all that is happening to him is a parenthesis: he got divorced, swindled his father's company, agreed to come back and did not return. Now he's driving around the southern United States in a rented car. On the way he meets Adriana, a Bolivian "made in USA" who will share the feeling of loss and emptiness that invades him.
Forms part of Fuguet's Cortos, a volume of stories published in 2004.
