Say It Like You Mane It

This was a lovely small town, slow burn romance. Caroline shows up in a wedding dress and with a lion cub. It's the last thing that Zander wants for his small town, he is hyper-focused on protecting the town and everyone in it. He doesn't need the distraction or danger being brought to his door. However, he can't deny the pull he has towards Caroline, especially when she starts opening up and being herself. I loved the change we see in Zander, the realisation that he can allow himself to love and also be the protector. Caroline goes through changes too, and the more we find out about her, the more we love her. She isn't at all what she seems. I loved the extended family that Zander has and being introduced to those with existing stories and those with stories to come. I will definitely be checking them out.


I struggled a little with the narration. I thought Desiree Ketchum was fantastic, and she really conveyed the strong yet vulnerability traits of the character perfectly. For James R. Cheatham, I felt there was lack of consistency with the accent, which was distracting and made it difficult to become fully immersed in his chapters. That being said, I did like his tone and he conveyed the characters emotions well.
