“At least if I'm to die, it'll be at the hands of someone lovely.” His eyes charted a slow course over her face.Warmth crept into Caledonia's cheeks.

He touched her cheek, and Caledonia gasped, her arm lowering. She felt his hand slide into her hair, felt a spike of delicious heat follow his grazing fingers.

I do not like pirates like these:
Or like these:
(Side note: TBH, there's a reason I've only been able to watch the first two episodes of Black Sails.)
I read some of the glowing and four star reviews for this book. I believe it's going to have too much of things I don't like. (Specifically the drug stuff, but also the violence.)

I did my research. Which included looking at the sequels. ... Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I misunderstood the synopsis of book two but... A HUGE reason I was interested in this book was because of the all woman pirate crew. The synopsis of book two...sounds like that...well, read the synopsis of you want to know. Like I said. I might be wrong. If I am, that's great! I personally still have two good reasons why I'm not continuing this book.
