A solid if not spectacular entry in the In Death series. The body count is low, so those who are easily upset by some of the more gruesome and disturbing cases will find welcome relief. A little more predictable than some of Eve's cases, but the fun of watching Eve try to get information about potential suspects while getting the Trina treatment makes it all worthwhile. We get the usual scenes - interaction with Mira and Mavis, potential candy thief suspect - and some seem a little more pro forma than usual (really, it's not necessary to include Mavis in every single book!), but the relationship between Eve and Roarke continues to grow and deepen, and it's a credit to Robb/Roberts that she can keep their marriage from becoming stale after 45 books (and numerous novellas).
Not my favorite book in the series, but Secrets in Death gives me no reason to think the series is losing steam, either.
