This books describes the journey from Chennai to Varanasi and back, in, as you might guess from the title, a Ford Fiesta.
The author and his wife, Indians from New Zealand, along with another Indian expat couple from Dubai, and their Guru, Siva Shankar Baba.
This is written in an interesting style. It is almost diarised, has a lot of references to social media (we get a selection of reviews of each hotel from TripAdvisor), but also does a decent job of overviewing recent history - both political and religious, with some general Indian history too.
Make no mistake, it is a spiritual journey as much as a physical journey, and the book describes both. Obviously very committed to his Guru, who we are often reminded is his best friend, the book is really a dedication to Siva Shankar Baba.
For a self published, free on Smashwords book, I enjoyed it for its travel and excellent descriptions of the countryside and the temples, and the coherent explanations that went with them.
