DNF. More academic than I thought it would be, and the chapters I managed to read discussed the women's personal and professional relationships with men more than their actual work. Despite lumbering through a full chapter devoted to Susan Sontag, I still have no idea why Kevin Costner's character in Bull Durham calls her novels “self-indulgent, overrated crap” (yes it's because he's a guy, but what feature of about her writing offends his male sensibilities so much?).
